    Tuesday Night League

Friday, August 1, 2008, 04:41 PM MST [General]

Last week was a horrible week for me.  I forgot I through per game, but my series was 571.   This week was much better.  Here are my games

    Game 1:   219

    Game 2:   256

    Game 3:   221

My series was 696.   I was hoping for a 700, but though about it too much in the 3rd game.  I started off strong with 3 strikes, but had a number of frames with spares only.  As far as team, last week we dropped 2 spots with only 1 point out of 4 won.   This week we took 3 and lost the first game by 2 pins.  TTYL

    Tuesday Night League

Thursday, July 10, 2008, 12:49 AM MST [General]

From last weekend being a very long week, I forgot to post my results for last week for Tuesday.  After a long weekend of bowling I came back with a 615.   I could have done a lot better, but I with 30+ games I kind of burned out.  I shot 203, 205, 207.

As for this week I shot a little better.  Started out strong with a 222, but slowed down to a 204 and then a 199.  We took all four points from the second place team.  We were in 5 beginning the night, but might have jumped into 3rd maybe 2nd.  I felt good, but started getting into some of my old habits during the last game.  I think I still need to practice more even though I bowl on Monday and Tuesday.   Hopefully we have enough time to have a run at first.  TTYL

    2008 Native American National Classic

Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 12:48 AM MST [General]

Hey everyone.. I had a great weekend in Vegas, both bowling and just having fun on vacation. It’s always great to see the family. I don’t get to see them too often so I really enjoy it always. And plus most of them bowl. It was awesome to see all of us bowl well in most of the events. I myself had a great weekend. Faltered at the end, but all in all and great weekend.

    No Tap                                          Mixed Doubles

    Crappy 642                                 228 191 256 Total: 675

I bowled No Tap just for the fun of it. I didn’t do too well, but had a lot of fun. My soon to be wife and I almost took Mixed Doubles. We missed out of placing first place by 4 pins. I wish I knew the payouts for all the events. For some reason, this tournament sends your official results; payouts and money threw the mail a month down the road.

Masters Qualifying                      Match 1                  Match 2

    215 258 214 210                             261                         194

    Total: 897

One of my goals this weekend was just to make the cut. Sometime ago, I really wasn’t a good enough bowler to try to get into this event. But since I’ve been on a good roll the past three months, it was a no-brainer. I had so much room on the freshly oiled lanes. I ended up qualtifying 4th out of 8. I got a first round bye which was cool. A little nervous at this point, but maintained it as I could. The first match the lanes were exactly like qualifying, so I didn't have any problems. The second match I just gave the match to him. The lanes ended up being completely different. By the time I found it, it was too late. The guy was big and threw literally from the second set of dots with only TWO FINGERS hurling the ball a good 20 ft. Oh well it was good experience for next time.

Team Pueblo Trading Rollers                             Team Brown Round Bowlers

    166 213 256 Total: 635                                         193 197 243 Total: 633

Our second team ended up taking 3rd place. We were real close for second place, but 150 pins from first. First place bowled out of their minds. This is the highest result I’ve ever had on a team in 7 years of competitive bowling.

    Singles                                     Doubles

    246 246 248 Total: 740         193 163 201 Total: 557

The first set of lanes were exactly like Masters qualifying. I felt so good and relaxed and hit my mark around 90% of the time. I’m fairly confident I took first. The leading score from the previous two squads was 738. We were in the final squad, but I didn’t feel like staying to see the results. I was dead tired and just wanted to relax at some point of my vacation. What a great weekend. I hope every year is like this one. TTYL

    Quick Post For State Results

Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 12:28 AM MST [General]

No good news for state in Tucson.  I did have a great time with my friends.  A great time.  As far as bowling I didn't do a good showing.  I bowled a little too much (practice and no-tap tourney).  In team I shot 588 series.  I forget what I shot in each game, but had a couple of low 200's and a crappy last game.   Single and Doubles.... forget about it.  I shot my worst in singles (high 400 series)... crappy.  and doubles wasn't much better (low 500 series).  I did have a issue with my thumb.  The night before singles and doubles I bowled in a no-tap and did pretty well.  Series was 790, but lost in the first cut with a 194.  I had fun, but it did hurt my bowling for the next day.  My thumb swelled up and I couldn't get a clean release.  I tried zipping out a little with the thumb hole, but I know I wouldn't be able to shot the following week with a huge thumb hole.    That's it for state, hopefully do better next year.  TTYL

    Tuesday League

Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 11:21 PM MST [General]

Well I did better than Monday nite. Way better... about 200 + pins better. Again I started by throwing my ball too hard. I fixed by the 5th frame. Oh better yet, I finally got a plastic spare ball. I was 75% on my 10 pin. I didn't have time to practice with it, so it took me awhile to get use to it. Here are my scores....

    Game 1: 201

    Game 2: 232

    Game 3: 243

I had the first seven in the third game, but once again I didn't release it correctly and hit high leaving a big split. Oh well... I'm so excited to bowl State this weekend. It's in Tucson this year so it should be fun. One of my guys dropped out recently, but luckily I found a replacement. Actually, it might be a good thing. The guy that dropped out was working a lot this summer, so he hasn't picked up a ball since the end of April. The guy we picked up has about 20 pins more on his average and bowls in several summer leagues. Wish us luck this weekend. Later
