Roll off week for the summer

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 07:25 PM MST [General]

It was the last week for the summer.  On Monday, we found out we finished 5th place out of 9 teams for the season.  So, it was a little disappointing that we really didn't have a chance for 4th place.  In addition, I didn't come close to my goal for average in this PBA Exp. League.  I finished with a 171, but I really wanted a 190 avg.   Oh well, next year for sure.   In practice I realized that they didn't layout a PBA pattern.  It kind of sucked, but I did well considering.    My games were:  214, 185, 256 for a 655 series.  I ended up taking money for high game scratch.

For Tuesday, we finished 6th place out of 14 teams.   We had a bad last week, last week.  Oh man we had a chance to finish 2nd.  1st place was out of reach, but we had a half game up on third fourth and fifth place.   We of course choked and finished 6th with a 1 point win out of 4 total.  Here are my games:   245, 191, 255 for a series of 691.  Darn, I could have easily got a 700 series, but in the second game nothing was carrying.  I had a 10 pin 3 times, stone 9 twice.   My goal was to have a 200 avg. for the whole summer.  Needless to say, I crushed that goal.  I ended up averaging 211 for 36 games.  That's by far my best average to date.   I'm really excited to bowl this fall and show off my new swing and game.

This summer was so much fun.  Especially because I bowled with my wife all summer.   We had a lot of fun.   We're definately going to get into summer leagues every summer.  It's so much fun.  TTYL

    Last Tuesday's Scores

Sunday, August 10, 2008, 11:05 PM MST [General]

Finally got some time to post my scores from league.

I've pretty much in a groove in this league.  I think most of it is due to me bowling on a Monday league as well.  Usually I don't during the Fall season, but I thiink I might this year.   In addition, its the PBA experience league.  That league really tests your shot making skills.   Then the next night I have so much room... around 5 boards to play with.   Here are my scores...

    Game 1    245

    Game 2    211

    Game 3    213

This week is postion week for both leagues.  We're in 6th place out of 10 teams on Monday night and 4th place out of 14 teams on Tuesday night.   Can't remember what we need to finish where, but I'll let you know on Wednesday.... hopefully..:)   TTYL

Thanks for the good luck wishes for my tournament tonight. I drive 40 miles to go to the house where I bowl my PBA Experience league. They do a good job of keeping it interesting, and trying new things (along with keeping the cost down). The tournament tonight will definitely be interesting. Also, I uploaded my first video clip from the the USBC Nationals (from July).

    Hey Eric,

Yeah...I had a pretty good time in Laughlin. Played on the house's money for over half of my trip and I also drank my fair share of Miller Lites. Nice bowling in Vegas BTW!

Thank you like I said I was pleased YEAH 3,6,9, format but it really doesn't make a difference I don't think because the PROs get those strikes also plus I noticed if anything it made it a little harder to adjust if you had someone bowling the same line because after all four on that lane bowled there 8 to 16 shots depending on the leave my line had changed it took me until the third game to realize that after those frames I needed to move or make sure to stay up the back of the ball.
